Israel notified the United States in advance of its intention to expand operations in Lebanon.
According to a report by Channel 12 News, the American message to Israel was to avoid launching strikes in Beirut and to refrain from bringing down buildings in the city.
Conversely, a senior Israeli official noted that approval remains in place to carry out targeted eliminations in Beirut should an operational opportunity arise.
