President Isaac Herzog visited the Israel National Cyber Directorate on Sunday, accompanied by the Directorate's Head, BG (Res.) Yossi Karadi.

The President received a briefing on the directorate’s operations and on its operational challenges and responses in the region. President Herzog was also shown a demonstration of the "deepfake" threat, which enables real-time impersonation during video calls. The visit concluded with an operational situational assessment, during which President Herzog was updated on recent incidents and attacks thwarted by the directorate.

“The cyber front is an active front of critical importance as it poses a threat to national infrastructure and to the lives of every citizen of the State of Israel. The word 'cyber' can sometimes sound abstract, but you are at the heart of the defense of our national infrastructure. Our ability to function as a leading and thriving country is a vital component of our national security and resilience, and of our ability to defeat the enemy. Thank you for your essential and important work," Herzog stated.
