Report: Iran nearing agreement to purchase anti-ship cruise missiles from China

Iran and China are nearing an agreement under which Beijing would sell CM-302 anti-ship cruise missiles to Tehran.

According to a report by Reuters, the deployment of the missiles would significantly enhance Iran’s offensive capabilities and pose a threat to United States Navy forces deployed in the region. The report added that negotiations between the two countries accelerated following last summer’s 12-day war between Israel and Iran.
