A senior United Torah Judaism official, speaking following a meeting of the Council of Torah Sages, said that the rabbis agreed to oppose the idea of sanctions against draft dodgers as part of the Draft Law, but it was decided not to publish a decision at this stage in order to hold discussions with Degel HaTorah - the party leading the legislation.
