New South Wales Police Commissioner announced the launch of Operation Arques, a joint counterterrorism operation with other departments in the country to investigate the shooting attack in Sydney. He clarified that no other offenders remain at large.
The commissioner also stated that the terrorists were 50 and 20 years old and are father and son. The 50-year-old was eliminated, and his son is in the hospital. The elder terrorist was a licensed firearm holder with six weapons licensed to him. All firearms were siezed at the scene and at the terrorists home.
