A senior Hamas official stated that initial talks with Israel will focus on the release of Israeli hostages and providing guarantees to Hamas. According to him, the organization’s negotiation team insists that a ceasefire take effect at the start of the talks.

It was also reported that Hamas strongly opposes the establishment of an international administration in the Gaza Strip, and that Arab countries support the group’s proposal for governance led by an independent technocratic committee called the “Social Support Committee.”
