Britain warns Israel not to respond to recognition of Palestinian state with sovereignty.
Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper clarified that Britain will not declare the British consulate in East Jerusalem an official embassy for the time being, but will "determine the next steps in the diplomatic process at a later stage."
"Just as we recognize the State of Israel, we must recognize the right of the Palestinians to their own state," she told the BBC.
