During an interview with Fox News, White House Middle East Envoy Steven Witkoff was asked about the two-month deadline that President Trump set for Iran to reach a deal with the US and what would happen after those two months.
Witkoff noted that the deadline follows the President's policy of reaching out to adversaries to avoid armed conflict. "We don't need to solve everything militarily. That's not to say that if G-d forbid we're pushed to that point, we're not going to use military action, we would under certain circumstances. But our signal to Iran is: 'Let's sit down and see if we can solve this through dialogue, diplomacy. If we can it's great, and if not it's not a great alternative."
He clarified: "Iran can not have a bomb. We can not allow them to proceed to weaponization and a nuclear arsenal."
