The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi, is set to travel tonight on an official visit to the United States from February 17 to 20, 2025. During the visit, he will meet with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), and other senior U.S. military officials to discuss key strategic and operational issues. The position of the Chief of the General Staff will be filled by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, MG Amir Baram, during the visit.
"During the ‘Swords of Iron’ War, cooperation between the two militaries has been exceptional. The Chief of the General Staff will take the opportunity to express his gratitude to his counterparts for their support, commitment, and personal ties. Additionally, he will explore ways to further enhance this cooperation," the IDF stated.
