US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Panama's President, Jose Raul Mulino, that China's "influence and control" over the Panama Canal is unacceptable to Washington.
Rubio said that Panama must act or the US would take necessary measures to protect its rights under a treaty between the two countries.
