After the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime, President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed his government to set up a supply food program to Syria, together with international organizations.
Ukraine is one of the main exporters of flour and maize to the Middle East, but so far it has not imported these products to Syria, which has received supplies from Russia.
"Ukraine is ready to help Syria prevent a food crisis," Zelenskyy wrote on X.
