Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iran's last Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, commented on the fall of the Assad regime.
"The collapse of the murderous Assad regime is a devastating blow to the Islamic Republic and its so-called 'axis of resistance.' As Khamenei’s puppets and proxies across the region fall one by one, his regime is weaker and more vulnerable than ever. The Iranian people know this and preparing to fight and win the ultimate battle: freeing Iran. With maximum pressure on the regime and maximum support for the people, this change will fundamentally change the region and finally bring about peace in the Middle East.
"To the Syrian people, I extend my best wishes for a peaceful transition and a free and prosperous future. I hope the Syrian people achieve the democratic, national government in which all Syrians' rights are respected and sectarian conflicts are a thing of the past. The people of Iran never supported the disastrous policy of the Islamic Republic that plundered tens of billions of dollars of our national wealth to prop up the criminal Assad regime. Iranians, free from their own brutal regime, look forward to building a peaceful region with all of our neighbors, including Syrians."
