The US State Department confirmed Yemen Houthi rebels' claim that they attacked two US destroyers in the Red Sea, noting that the ships thwarted the attack.
Pentagon Press Secretary Pat Ryder said the destroyers were struck by at least eight explosive drones, five anti-ship ballistic missiles and three anti-ship cruise missiles, that were "defeated,” according to Ryder.
