The families of American hostages held in Gaza met on Wednesday with Qatari Minister of State Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. Dr Al-Khulaifi heads the Qatari negotiation team in the hostage negotiations.
The families stressed the urgent need to secure an agreement that will immediately release their loved ones and bring them home to their families. They also expressed their gratitude for Qatar’s continued mediation efforts. Dr. Al-Khulaifi affirmed Qatar’s enduring commitment to resolving this humanitarian crisis, ending the violence, and bringing home all of the hostages.
The following family members of American hostages met with Dr Al-Khulaifi: Yael Alexander, mother of American hostage Edan Alexander; Liz Hirsh Naftali, great-aunt of released American hostage Abigail Mor Edan; and Ronen Neutra, father of American hostage Omer Neutra.
