The government on Sunday night approved in a telephone poll the extension of the term of Kobi Yaakobi as acting Commissioner of the Israel Prison Service until June 1, 2024.
In light of the tremendous praise that Yaakobi has received, and the significant changes he has made in the activities of the Israel Prison Service during his tenure so far, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir intends to bring to a vote a proposal to make his appointment a permanent one.
