The Saudi television channel Al-Hadath reported on Wednesday, citing a western source, that the head of the Mossad, David Barnea, informed the mediators of the hostage deal in Cairo that the release of Marwan Barghouti would be a red line.
Barghouti, who served as the secretary general of the Fatah movement, was sentenced to five cumulative life sentences and 40 years in prison for his involvement in terrorist attacks in which five Israelis were murdered and many others were injured.
