The Simon Wiesenthal Center has responded to Hamas' claim that three out of the four members of the Bibas family who were abducted on October 7th were killed in an Israeli airstrike.

"The Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC) is appalled by the latest actions of Hamas with regard to 10-month-old Kfir Bibas, the youngest hostage kidnapped by the terrorist group, who, together with his parents and 4-year-old brother, has been handed over to a separate Palestinian terror group in the southern city of Khan Younis.

The city is expected to be a target of Israel’s next offensive, raising the prospect that the infant and his family are being used for further leverage in talks to extend the truce."

Rabbi Abraham Cooper, Associate Dean and Director of Global Social Action at SWC, issued the following statement:

“Barbarity on full display as Palestinian terrorists leverage a 10-month baby and family as hostage/human shields! UN Secretary-General Guterres, you have been silent until now. Take the global lead to demand this family be released immediately without conditions. Faith leaders, including Imams, speak up now!”
