The Jerusalem Municipality illuminated the walls of the Old City and the Chords Bridge with the flags of Israel and the United States this evening (Wednesday), on the occasion of the arrival of the US President, Joe Biden, for a solidarity visit to Israel.

Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon said: "Our capital city, Jerusalem, and the entire State of Israel welcome and express gratitude to US President Joe Biden for the warm embrace he gave us all during his visit. President Biden is a true friend of Israel, and the United States is our closest ally. From the beginning of the conflict, the President has stood with us firmly, assisting Israel and providing a powerful and meaningful voice against the terrible acts that have occurred in the South and against the threats from our enemies in the North. The residents of Jerusalem share in the grief of the victims' families and continue to pray for the recovery of the wounded and the swift return of the captives. Thanks to the unique Jerusalem spirit – we will prevail!"
