Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett on Monday evening welcomed reports that 1,500 haredim have approached to the IDF to enlist and take part in the war against the terrorist organizations.

"The haredim are brothers! I must say that I am moved by the actions of the haredi community right now. They understand the magnitude of the hour, everyone is joining in to help in any way: Sacred work at ZAKA, food, civil aid," he said.

"What decades of quarrels and legislation failed to do by force, this terrible war alongside the great spirit of this nation, is being done with goodwill. If we are wise enough to continue in this wonderful spirit (and without angry statements), then many haredim will enlist in the IDF by choice and voluntarily."
