The Union of Journalists in Israel sent a letter this morning to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu requesting that he hold press conferences open to questions.

"In all democratic countries, the heads of state conduct a dialogue with the public through the media. In all democratic countries, prime ministers and presidents usually hold press conferences from time to time where it is possible to ask questions. There is no reason for Israel to behave in a different way. We call on the prime minister to include in his statements a significant time devoted to questions and answers, as is routine for press conferences by the prime minister," it was reported.
