The government approved the revised electronic handcuffing law proposed by Minister of the Interior Itamar Ben-Gvir.

According to the amended proposal, the court will be able to issue a protection order against a family member after assessing the danger level posed by the individual. The order will also be instated if that family member has a previous conviction for a violent crime.

According to the new measure, if a judge is under the impression that an imminent danger is in place, however, they are authorized to rule for the handcuffing to take place immediately pending an assessment of the risk involved.
