Leftist protesters painted the intersection of Kaplan and Menachem Begin streets in rainbow colors in protest of what they believe are "anti-gay" measures by the government and wrote: "There is no pride in a dictatorship."

"Ahead of the pride events in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, we are reminding all of us that the rights of the gay community and equal rights for all, regardless of race and creed, are in danger! The dictatorship does not care about the weak - it tramples them. We will continue to fight for a liberal democratic Israel," stated the activists.
