EU ambassador Dimiter Tzantchev sent a letter of condolence to the family of Rabbi Gershon Edelstein, entrusting Deputy Minist Uri Maklev to deliver the message.
"Rabbi Edelstein was one of the Torah greats of this generation. His passing is a great loss for his many students in Israel and around the world who saw him as a halachic authority, spiritual guide, and leader. May his memory be blessed," the ambassador wrote.
