Deputy Finance Minister MK Michal Waldiger sent a letter this morning (Monday) to Justice Minister Yariv Levin, asking him to intervene to prevent the possibility of an early release for terrorist Walid Dakah, who murdered IDF soldier Moshe Tamam (H"YD) in 1984.
"I will ask for the minister's intervention in the case. It must be ensured that the despicable murderer with blood on his hands will not receive even the slightest bit of mercy from the law," she wrot
According to Section 4 of the Terrorism Law, terrorists are not entitled to an early release. Despite this, Tamam's lawyer, Avigdor Feldman, submitted a request to the special release committee, which deals with early releases for humanitarian reasons.
Dakah had submitted the request while hospitalized but his condition has recently improved and he was returned to prison. Nevertheless, the committee is still considering the request.
