Due to the heavy load on IVF clinics in the private health system, the Ministry of Health today contacted the managers of the IVF units in the hospitals in order to examine the possibility of moving activities to the public units as soon as possible.
In the letter that was sent, the managers of the units are asked to check whether they will comply in the near term with the addition of treatment cycles, on the assumption that it will be possible to choose a treating doctor and to pay the doctors appropriately.
In addition to and because of a number of processes and discussions in the Ministry of Health, which began even before the recent exceptional cases that occurred in the two IVF units in Assuta's medical centers, today the Director General of the Ministry of Health, Moshe Bar Siman Tov, appointed a team to examine the system for in vitro fertilization, and to formulate the necessary policy measures.
