The veterinary services at the Agriculture Ministry carried out an immediate investigation following symptoms of severe pain, diarrhea and vomiting in 30 sport horses at a stable in Ra'anana that appeared suddenly. Some of the horses were evacuated to the veterinary hospital.
The ministry stated that it is suspected that this was a deliberate poisoning, after the diagnosis in the toxicology laboratory at the veterinary institute indicated poisoning with Aldicarb, a pesticide that has been banned for use in Israel since 2012.
