A spokesman for UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Tuesday commented on the escalation in Gaza.
"We are in contact with all parties to restore calm and seek to cooperate with the countries of the region that can help calm the situation. We seek an immediate end to the violence in Gaza - any escalation will harm the Palestinians and the Israelis," said the spokesman.
