According to a report on Reshet Bet, 12 government ministers have requested to participate in the central bonfire lighting in Meron this evening, Lag b'Omer. The Shin Bet department responsible for securing Knesset members, however, has refused to authorize their participation due to security concerns.
The 12 ministers include Meir Porush, Itamar Ben-Gvir, Chaim Biton, Yoav Ben-Tzur, Miri Regev, Yitzchak Wasserlauf, and Bezalel Smotrich. Instead, the ministers will participate in the event from the Bnei Akiva compound near the burial cave of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai.
