The head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, welcomed the elimination of the terrorists who carried out the shooting attack near the Samaria town of Avnei Hefetz.
"An attack that ends with a terrorist being eliminated is the right ending. I thank the security forces for their determined and courageous action. However, it was wrong. Capturing terrorists after the fact does not stop terrorism. Senior IDF and government officials must change the paradigm. Repeating the same action over and over without a new result is not helpful."
"The time has come to eliminate the terrorist infrastructure of the murderous Palestinian Authority in an offensive action to restore the security checkpoints and to reinstate the Shufa checkpoint - which was unmanned, allowing the terrorist to reach three Israelis and shoot them in broad daylight - and not to abandon the checkpoint after media interest has subsided. There is no other way," Dagan said.
