The police arrested a pair of parents from Kfar Quassem in central Israel on suspicion of assaulting and neglecting their two- and three-year-old children.
After an investigation of the children by the welfare authorities, the suspicions against the parents grew stronger and a search of their home raised additional suspicion of neglect.
The court extended their detention until Monday.
