Labor Minister Yoav Ben-Tzur harshly criticized former minister Omer Barlev, who demonstrated outside the home of the Lithuanian Hassidic leader Rabbi Gershon Edelstein in Bnei Brak.
"Freedom of expression is not the freedom to humiliate. Omer Barlev and the group of privileged people who demonstrated outside the house of Rabbi Edelstein disgraced the honor of the Torah and there is no forgiveness for that. It saddens me to see that Omer Barlev, who has contributed a lot to Israel's security, is ashamed of his past and uses the IDF as a tool to lash out at the people."
"The great contribution of the haredi society to the State of Israel is enormous and no protest will compromise the work of our hundreds of charitable organizations that work for all the citizens of Israel without distinction," said Ben-Tzur.
