Minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat inaugurated the first Israeli exhibition pavilion in the history of Morocco within the framework of SIAM, the leading agricultural technology exhibition in Africa. Barkat went through the Israeli booths set up in the pavilion, presenting the technological capabilities of Israeli companies. The 10 Israeli firms taking part have received great interest from thousands of visitors, including many senior African and international officials. They've voiced strong interest in Israeli technology required to develop agriculture in desert conditions. "I am proud and happy to inaugurate the first Israeli pavilion on Moroccan soil and to open a golden bridge of peace between [the two states]. Morocco is one of the leading countries in Africa and within it there are huge opportunities for Israeli companies to make breakthrough and life-changing technology that can help tens of millions of people in Africa. I am happy and excited for the privilege and thank the Moroccan government for the warm welcome I received. I am committed to developing strategic relations between Israel and Morocco," Barkat was quoted as saying.
