Education Minister Yoav Kisch's proposal has failed, as there was no majority for the appointment of Prof. Dudi Schwartz to the position of Deputy Chairman of the Higher Education Council.
In the first vote, 10 council members voted in favor of the appointment, 8 voted against and 2 abstained, and in the repeat vote a tie was recorded: 9 for and against. The final decision will be made after a legal review.
