National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has responded to the verdict in the case of Border Police officer Orian Bar Khalifa.
"It is strange that a judge who acquitted a police officer who punched a haredi boy and claimed that one should recognize the assailant 'did not operate under ideal conditions,' did not take into account the fact that this Border Police officer also did not operate under 'ideal conditions,'" Ben-Gvir said.
"In any case, as far as I am concerned, the verdict is not final and conclusive, and will not end the career of the officer, certainly as she was acquitted of the serious offenses. I will study the verdict and will ask the police commissioner and the Border Police commander to formulate their position and then a final decision will be made."
