An IDF major participated last week (Thursday) in the Million March in Jerusalem while wearing his uniform, contrary to IDF orders.
"After investigating the circumstances of the incident, the officer was subjected to disciplinary proceedings and as part of the procedure, it was decided that the officer would be transferred from his position to a non-command position. The participation of an IDF officer in a demonstration while wearing a uniform is illegal and has no place," the IDF spokesperson said.
The officer was given a suspended sentence of 25 days of incarceration.
