The son of Jordan's former interior minister, Fawaz al-Bashir, blasted Jordanian MP Imad al-Adwan, who was arrested by Israel on suspicion of smuggling weapons and gold through the Allenby crossing, Kan 11 News reported.
In a post he published on Facebook and which also appeared in the Jordanian news agency Ammon News, al-Bashir claimed that al-Adwan "does not represent him" and that some members of parliament do not differentiate between parliamentary immunity and pure crimes. He added that he does believe that the peace agreement with Israel is good for Jordan, but emphasized that regardless of his position on the matter, it is an agreement approved by the parliament, and the religion and the constitution state that agreements must be respected.
