MK Yuli Edelstein, the chairman of the Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee, has announced that he will be participating in a memorial ceremony tomorrow.
"This day belongs to us all," he said. "On this day, there are no boycotts and no protests, just sorrow, solidarity, and pride. Tomorrow, I will be taking part in several events and speaking as a representative of the state at the military cemetery in Hadera. I will be doing this with a sense of mission and of pride, as someone who has personally experienced cruel persecution due to my dream of living as a Jew in the Land of Israel. I will be participating in these ceremonies with great sorrow at the tragedy of those who have fallen, in the presence of their families and the rest of the Jewish People.
"I will respect the sanctity of this day, like many of my colleagues from across the political spectrum. On this day, we must all learn humility and show solidarity and demonstrate that we all share the same fate. We are here together, one people, with one memory and a variety of views," he concluded.
