Jerusalem District police officers from the border crossings unit together with civilian security guards, detained a suspect in his 40s, an Arab from the Palestinian Authority without permits to enter Israel, at the Qalandiya crossing for inspection this evening (Tuesday).
At a certain point, the suspect, who was assisted by crutches when walking, attacked the civilian security guard and tried to forcefully grab the weapon he had in his possession.
The security forces operating at the scene responded quickly, took control of the suspect and he was arrested.
