The Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi and his wife have visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem.

As the siren was sounded, the Prince stood near the main flag in the plaza, alongside hundreds of others present. Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, the rabbi of the Western Wall, recited a chapter of Psalms with the Crown Prince and then the two men prayed for peace among the nations and between Israel and Iran.

The Crown Prince was visibly moved, and later signed the Visitors' Book, writing: "To peace, to freedom, to security, the dignity of man, and living in unity. I bless the peoples of Iran and Israel."
