Speaking at "Each Person Had a Name" ceremony today, President Isaac Herzog called for unity in Israeli society.
"We do not recall numbers but we recall lives, human lives," Herzog said. "The name of every single Jew who was extinguished is still read eighty years later in Jerusalem, in the house of legislature of our Jewish, democratic state, and this is a great victory.
"I ask to mention here the moving words of Holocaust survivor Shoshana Weiss who called on us all, yesterday, to unite and preserve our people and our homeland, as we have no other. Let us heed her words."
