Holocaust Memorial Day events will begin this evening at eight o'clock, with the central event at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem.
This year marks 80 years since the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. This year, Yad Vashem in collaboration with the Shem Vaner organization will be holding a candle-lighting event, with those invited arriving from half-past-five this afternoon to light memorial candles for those lost during the Holocaust. Tomorrow, the general public will be able to participate in candle-lighting at the Yad Vashem plaza (at the Warsaw Ghetto square) between eleven o'clock and half-past-four.
