A resident of eastern Jerusalem in his 20s was shot by police officers in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood of Jerusalem early Monday morning after allegedly torching a car.
The police said that the man was spotted wearing a coat and holding an object. He refused to remove his coat at the request of the police and began muttering "Allahu Akbar." One of the officers fired one bullet at the suspect, and he was seriously injured and taken to a hospital. Police forces who searched the area located the vehicle that had been set on fire. The incident is suspected to be nationalistic in nature.
