The chairman of the Labor Party, MK Merav Michaeli, criticized Yair Lapid and Benny Gantz for their response to the security escalation.
"The role of the opposition is not to give automatic backing to a government whose members walk around with a barrel of gasoline and try to set fire to the country. On the contrary. Our role is to examine each event with a magnifying glass to make sure that Israel's security is not harmed by members of the government as extreme and irresponsible fanatics."
"The Labor Party supports the IDF and the security forces who do the hard work in the field. In any dispute between the IDF and the security forces and the extremist and irresponsible government, the Labor Party will stand by the security establishment in order to strengthen the security of Israel's civilians and citizens," Michaeli said.
