The North District Attorney's Office today submitted to the District Court in Nazareth an indictment against Shlomo Ben Eliyahu Gaz (63) for setting fire to the town hall building in Tzfat.
According to the indictment, the accused arrived at the scene at night with a flammable substance, a lighter, and a hammer in his possession. He broke a window in the building and entered through it. The accused arrived at the mayor's office, broke down the door, entered the office, and lit a fire inside. After the act, the accused left the municipality building and was arrested near it. The city hall building suffered a lot of damage, both from the fire and from additional damage caused by the defendant, which is estimated at approximately NIS 400,000.
