Chairman of the Knesset Committee and Chairman of the Coalition Ofir Katz (Likud) removed from the Arrangements Law the section requiring payment for failure to attend a medical appointment.
The section is intended to charge a patient in advance for a visit to a doctor, institute or clinic, with the payment not being returned to the client if he does not arrive at the appointment set for him.
According to the proposal, the payment will not be returned to the patient if he did not cancel the appointment within 24 hours of its date.
"This is a bad law, which severely harms disadvantaged populations, especially adults and people from the periphery," said MK Katz.
