The IDF Widows and Orphans Organization calls on public leaders to keep the days between Passover, Memorial Day and Independence Day free from any controversy.
"We widows and orphans of the IDF, who have experienced the heaviest personal tragedy, turn to you from the right and the left and say: Enough! Allow the national days of remembrance to unite us, and do not dare to use them to deepen the rift. Let our personal and family tragedy be a warning sign to the entire Israeli nation, not to allow a national disaster that may destroy us all.
Memorial Day does not differentiate between right and left, supporters or opponents of the reform, bereavement affects everyone. The leaders of both sides, those who sent or may send our sons and daughters to the battlefield should and even must come to the cemeteries, look at the widows and orphans and feel their pain. The disputes, however great they may be, those that are for the sake of heaven and those that are not, should be left for the days after the holiday of our redemption."
