At least nine people killed in earthquake in Pakistan and Afghanistan

At least nine people were killed in a magnitude-6.5 earthquake which was felt in much of Pakistan and Afghanistan on Tuesday.

The US Geological Survey reported the earthquake hit in the far northeast of Afghanistan, near the country's border with Pakistan, at a depth of about 116 miles. It was also felt in bordering Tajikistan, The Associated Press reported.
