Minister of National Security MK Itamar Ben-Gvir participated today (Tuesday) in a ceremony for outstanding police units.

"We were fortunate that after thousands of years of exile, we established our own Jewish and democratic state with strong bodies such as the IDF, the ISA, the police, the prison service and the fire brigade, but the key for these bodies to succeed and enjoy the public's trust is that they uphold the policies of the elected officials."

"In recent days we have been hearing voices of those who are confused about who the security forces in Israel are subordinate to. In our democratic country, the laws are very clear: the Police Ordinance states that the police are subordinate to the government, just as the Basic Law of the Army states that the army is subordinate to the government."
