The District Court in Tel Aviv today (Tuesday) sentenced Ron Nahum, a man 59 years old from Ramat Gan, to 30 years in prison after he was convicted of murdering his friend Artium Willov on his birthday and dragging his body to a garbage room, where it was found two weeks later.
In the sentencing, the court noted that "the crime of murder, even the basic crime of murder committed with intent according to Section 300(a) of the Penal Code, is one of the most serious and difficult crimes in the Penal Code, certainly so when we are dealing with the murder of a young man whose life was cut short on his birthday, in a casual way that left behind a bloody and painful scene. The values of the sanctity of life and the integrity of the body are the values that stand at the highest level of the values of every human society and harming them is of the highest degree of severity, and there seems to be no dispute about that."
