The IDF spokesperson issued a statement in which he sought to emphasize that "IDF orders prohibit the participation of officers of the rank of lieutenant colonel and above in protests and demonstrations, of any kind."
"The IDF expects its soldiers not to bring strife into its ranks, and at the same time not to participate in protests from any side, out of the importance of maintaining the cohesion of the IDF and its competence," the statement reads.
